In a remote hamlet in rural India, a little boy is kidnapped by a ruthless band of goons. His parents hire two professional criminals to find him, but soon realize that their adversaries are far deadlier than anyone could have imagined. Intensely suspenseful and brilliantly comic, this thriller from director Anurag Kashyap tells the story of one man's journey through madness and the lengths he will go to to save his son. "Babumoshai Bandookbaaz" is the career-defining film for Kashyap. He was inspired by the life of notorious don, Munna Bajrangi, who was shot dead in Allahabad last year. With this film finishing in the same month, Kashyap decided to make it a tribute to Bajrangi. Shakti Kapoor plays Babu Ganesh Gaitonde, an underworld don who is not scared of anyone except his long-estranged brother Gaitonde (Pankaj Tripathi). He is the strongest and most influential don in this part of India, but he is also a family man, who cares about his wife (Bharati Achrekar), daughter (Veena Malik) and son (Kushal Punjabi). When his son Siddu (Akshay Oberoi) gets kidnapped by the local don, Ali Bhai (Manav Kaul), Gaitonde has to find a way to save him. He approaches two sharpshooters with criminal backgrounds—one is Babumoshai Bandookbaaz (Nawazuddin Siddiqui)—to help him rescue Siddu. The two men initially refuse to help, but once they realize the gravity of the situation, they agree to help. They trick Ali Bhai and rescue Siddu. Some time later, Gaitonde and Bandookbaaz find themselves pitted against a new enemy: an old don known as Kesi (Kunaal Roy Kapur), who is assisted by three loyal men: Jichodia (Aditya Srivastav), Babu (Saurabh Sharma) and Guddu (Vijay Verma). Filming for "Babumoshai Bandookbaaz" began on 18 December 2015 at Sitamarhi district in Bihar. The film is set in Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Sitamarhi and Mumbai. The climax of the film was shot at the famous BR Ambedkar Statue in Mumbai, which was erected by "Mahatma" BR Ambedkar just after independence. The film was released on 6 May 2017 by Eros International. Babumoshai Bandookbaaz has been censored, and received an "A" certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. It has been given a 'U/A' certificate from the Uttarakhand Censor Board. cfa1e77820
